The Message Of Ashura
MEP: This great event, the event of Ashura, can be reflected and pondered upon, from two aspects. Often, one of these aspects is reflected upon. I would like to ponder on the second point in our meeting. Ashura holds messages, and lessons… It teaches us that we have to sacrifice in order to maintain the religion… It inspires us to let go of everything for the path of the Holy Quran…
It teaches that in the battle between truth and falsehood, the small and the large, the man and the woman, the elder and the youth, the noble and the ignoble, the Imam and the peasant, are all on one queue… We learned that the enemy front, with all of its apparent capabilities, can receive strikes, as the Umayyad front received strikes from the captive caravan of Ashura in Koufa, Levant and Madina, which has led to the annihilation of the Sufyani front… It gives lessons in defending the religion. Insight is what important for the individual.
Whoever does not have insight shall be conned, as those who have been in Ibn Ziad’s army. They were not immoral and ungodly, but they were of those who lacked insight. These are the lessons of Ashura.
Of course, these lessons are enough to drive people from humiliation to glory. These lessons are able to conquer the front of infidelity and arrogance. These lessons build life.
