Over Dozens Killed In Yemen Suicide Bombing Claimed By Daesh

MEP: At least 60 people have been killed in a suicide car bombing on an army training camp in Yemen’s second city of Aden, local and medical sources said.

According to Sky News Arabia, at least 60 others were also wounded in Monday’s explosion, a spokesperson for the medical charity group Doctors Without Borders said, as cited by Reuters. He put the death toll at 45.

The Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the deadly blast.

A security source said the attack targeted a school compound where conscripts of the Popular Committees, forces allied to President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, were gathered for breakfast.

Witnesses said the suicide bomber entered the compound behind a truck that had brought breakfast for the conscripts, who had queued for the meal.

“It’s a massacre. This is the highest death toll in any attack that happened in Aden before,” Hakim al-Masmari, editor-in-chief of Yemen Post newspaper, told Al Jazeera.
