Roadside Mine Blast Leaves Eleven Dead, Injured In Ghor

MEP: As a result of a roadside bomb explosion in the city of Firozkoh, the central of Ghor province, three civilians were killed and eight others injured.

Abdul Hai Khatibi, spokesman for the governor of Ghor told the Middle East Press, the incident took place last night in the suburbs of Firozkoh city when a vehicle hit a roadside bomb.

The vehicle was traveling Ghor to Herat city when it struck the bomb in the area of Bara Khana in which three people on board, including a woman, were killed and eight others were wounded, including women and children, he said.

Khatibi added the wounded were transferred to the Central Hospital. One of them in critical condition.

According to the source, the goal of the blast was to target the supply convoy of the security forces which was supposed to move from Herat to Ghor on Monday.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
