FBI Foiled Bomb Attack On Florida Synagogue
KABUL: (MEP) The FBI has arrested a man suspected of plotting to bomb a synagogue in Miami, Florida, the Times of Israel reports, citing south Florida news station 7News.
The suspect, who is expected to be in federal court on Monday, intended to target the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center on Friday evening, when it would have been attended by worshipers for the Friday night service and the last night of Passover, 7News says.
The man allegedly planned to throw an explosive device over the wall of the synagogue, but was arrested before he could carry out the bombing. The FBI declined to comment on the investigation, according to 7News.
The man, who was caught in an FBI sting operation, may have converted to Islam, according to sources cited by 7News.
