Trump Calls For Obama’s Resignation Over Orlando Shooting
MEP: Donald Trump on Monday said that President Barack Obama should immediately resign because he “refused to call the Orlando massacre “Islamic terrorism”.
The presumptive Republican nominee made the comments in the wake of the Sunday terror attack by a Daesh sympathizer at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, that killed 50 people and injured another 53, marking the worst mass shooting in America’s history.
He also referred to Democrat Hillary Clinton and said she should exit the presidential race if she takes the same approach.
“If we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country anymore. Because our leaders are weak, I said this was going to happen – and it is only going to get worse. I am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. We can’t afford to be politically correct anymore,” a statement released by his campaign.
The gunman, identified by US media as Daesh sympathizer named Omar Mateen 29, took hostages at the club and barricaded himself in the complex but was later killed by specially trained SWAT units.
“Is President Obama going to finally mention the words radical Islamic terrorism? If he doesn’t he should immediately resign in disgrace,” Trump said on his Twitter account.

Mr Trump, who has called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, earlier tweeted that he had heard reports that Omar Mateen shouted “Allahu Akbar” – something the police, FBI and Florida politicians have been careful not to mention until confirmed.
