10 Million People Below Poverty Line In Afghanistan

MEP: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has stated in its most recent statistics that more than 10 million people live below the poverty line.

The Statistics noted that citizens living below the poverty line are deprived of basic facilities in the country.

The Ministry has said that further investigation is underway on the citizens’ problems in order to also examine other glitches of them.

According to the ministry, about five million children are deprived of education and are busy laboring on the roads.

The amount of children and youths in the country has been estimated 14 million and 500 thousand, of whom, only 9 million people studying and the rest are deprived of education.

However, the Ministry announced to create and provide education facilities for children adding that the work is done in coordination with some social institutions.

The United Nations had declared Afghanistan’s population about 32 million people in 2014 that after this survey, no research has been done on the set of the population.

This comes as in recent years a large number of enterprises and individuals have left the country for Europe over reasons of insecurity and lack of job opportunity.
