Six Villages Cleared Of Opponents In Khanabad – Kunduz Highway
MEP: Kunduz police launched a joint operation by security forces in Kunduz – Khanabad highway, as a result six villages have been cleared of the armed opposition as well as destroying several Taliban’s positions.
Mahfozullah Akbari, a spokesman for Kunduz police chief told the Middle East News Agency, the operations were conducted this morning.
He said the villages of Malraghe, Nasiryha, Jarguzar, Kata-khail, Momandha and Nawyan were completely washed of insurgents.
“Several major Taliban’s bases along with their equipment and ammunition were also destroyed in the operations”, Akbari added.
Khanabad – Kunduz highway is one of the most insecure highways in the country that frequently witnessed insecurity and a number of passengers also taken hostage by armed Taliban on the same route.
