The Senate Approves Budget For 1396
MEP: The country’s Senate has approved the national budget plans for 1396 the solar year.
Senators today (27 November) have discussed the plan for 1396 budget as public debate and with some suggestions in the balance projects, approved the proposal.
A number of senators, suggested 23 provincial development projects to balance projects for inclusion in the proposed budget plan.
The development came as long ago, the Senate had expressed concern over the imbalance in provincial projects.
The budget for 1396 makes up 287 billion Afghanis in operating budget and 178 billion is development budget that 32 percent of the budget is 150 billion is of domestic revenues and the remaining is funded from the international community.
The Ministry of Finance says that 36 percent of the budget to the security sector, 21% in infrastructure, 13% to education, six percent in agriculture, and the rest to other sectors are taken into account.
Article 98 of the constitution says that the budget plan later confirmed by the Senate, will be offered to the House of Representatives.
The draft budget in parliament will be offered when the members of this House had said that if any decision is taken without Parliament’s view in the case of disqualification of seven ministers, will not approve the budget plan.
