Taliban Insurgents Slay Two More Passengers

MEP: At least two more passengers were killed by Taliban insurgents in Kunduz province, security official reported early Thursday.

Masoum Hashimi, head of Kunduz police told the Middle East News Agency, the Taliban slain two more captive passengers on Wednesday evening.

The Taliban kept ten passengers that killed two of them yesterday, while eight others remained with them in their custody, Hashimi added.

Taliban insurgents at 2:00 am on Monday stopped several buses and vans on Kunduz highway and had taken hostage around 200 passengers. As a result, 15 of them have been brutally killed, 8 of them are being held hostage and the rest were freed.

Kunduz is one of the most insecure provinces in the northeast of Afghanistan which had been fully captured by Taliban insurgents in 1394 solar year. However, the security forces after a short period of time managed to retake the city and defeat the militants. Unfortunately, the militants are still active in key parts of the city.
