Taliban Attack Pushed Back in Dasht-e-Archi, Kunduz

KABUL (MEP) – Security forces managed to repel and push back an aggressive Taliban attack on Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz province.

Armed Taliban on Saturday, Nov. 24, launched an offensive attack on Dasht-e-Archi district, Kunduz Province.

The 217th (Pamir) ANA Corps in the northern Afghanistan says the Afghan security forces in cooperation with air forces pushed back the offensive attack of Taliban and heavy casualties were feared on Taliban fighters.

10 armed Taliban members including their deputy military commander Mawlawi Mobasher were killed and 7 others were wounded in the clashes, source said.

On the other hand, 217th Pamir Corps has said that one ANA soldier was killed and four others were wounded.

Major operation has been launched in the suburbs of Kunduz, where many villages have been cleared so far, ANA said in a newsletter.

The armed Taliban have not commented so far.
