Shooting In Florida Teenage Disco Leaves 2 Dead, 16 Injured
MEP: Two people have been murdered and 16 others wounded in a shooting outside of a Florida nightclub early Monday, officials said.
The incident took place during a ‘teen night’ at Club Blu with some of people at the event as young as 13, Lt. Jim Mulligan of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.
Early reports identified one of the victims as a 14-year-old boy.
The incident happened shortly after 1am.
Police have detained one person of interest in connection with the shooting, according to BBC.
The scene has been described as “a mad house” and there have been reports of gunshots as people were exiting the nightclub, Wink News, a television station based in Fort Myers reported.
More than two dozen yellow evidence markers were visible outside the club, which WBBH said indicated where bullet casings had fallen.
