Saudi Arabia Negotiation With Kuwait Over Petroleum Failed

KABUL: (Middle East Press) According to the Riyadh-based Ahrar al-Hejaz news website News sources reported that Saudi Arabia negotiation with Kuwait over the two joint oilfields Khafji and Wafra had failed.

In this regard at the same time Al-Jarida Kuwait Newspaper officially prepared a petition to be presented to the international court for the decree.

According to 50 years old contract between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, if any difference occurs between the parties with respect to these two joint oilfields, both parties will go to international arbitrary meditation courts to sort out differences.

It is said Kuwait resented of the contract extension of chevron Oil Company by the Saudi authorities in 2009 without reference to Kuwait so it refuses the issuance and renewal of visas for employees of this company.

Kuwait has not made strong policies against Saudi Arabia and always adopted moderate policy toward it. It is expected this dispute will be the beginning of a major change in the history of relations between the two countries.
