20160404_013911_harianterbit_abu_wardahMEP: Indonesian police officials said the country’s most wanted militant has been killed on Monday in a gunbattle with security forces.

The body of Abu Wardah Santoso, who led a group that backed the Takfiri Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) had been positively identified, the police chief who led the operation in Central Sulawesi said.

He said a DNA test is carrying out to confirm that the body belongs to the Mujahideen Indonesia Timur leader.

Santoso, who headed the East Indonesia Mujahideen militant group that in 2014 claimed allegiance to Daesh terror group, had eluded capture for more than five years.
