MEP: Kunduz provincial council representatives warn that if the government does not pay attention to the security situation in the city, the city will once again fall into Taliban insurgents’ hands.

Ghulam Rabbani Rabbani, a member of provincial council told the Middle East News Agency “you had witnessed that the Taliban insurgents yesterday kidnapped dozens of innocent passengers and killed many of them.”

He added that dozens of civilians in this war lose their lives every day and so far the government has not implemented on the improvement of security situation in the province.

“We seriously warn to the central authorities that if they did not pay serious attention to this matter, the city will once again collapse” Rabbani further added.

The Taliban insurgents at around 2:00 am Tuesday kidnapped some 200 passengers that were heading towards Badakhshan and Takhar provinces near Kunduz city. They have then released majority of them and killed 10 of them brutally.

Despite a lot of efforts we could not be able to hold talks with security forces over the issue.
