MEP: Some forty dead tiger cubs have been found in a freezer in Thailand’s infamous Tiger Temple during a raid to remove live animals, Thai officials say.

Adisorn Nuchdamrong, deputy director-general of the wildlife department, said on Wednesday the bodies of the cubs and bear were found stored in the freezer where the temple kept food for the tigers.

Police and wildlife officials started an operation on Monday to remove all the living tigers at the Tiger Temple.

Photos from inside Thailand’s controversial Tiger Temple have shown rows of small tiger carcasses lined up on the ground, alongside a small bear, a set of deer horns and plastic bottles reportedly containing animal parts.

Monks at the temple were not immediately available for comment.
