Iraqi Forces Rescue 350 Izadi Women From Daesh

Izadi womenMEP: More than 350 Izadi women have reportedly rescued by the Iraqi forces from the terror group Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) in the city of Fallujah, an Izadi official was quoted by German news agency DPA on Sunday as saying.

“Iraqi forces involved in Fallujah’s [liberation] operation have managed to free 354 Izadi women, who were abducted by the group after they took control of the Izadi-majority Shingal (Sinjar) region in August 2014,” Hadi Dubani, the director of Izadi Affairs in the city of Dohuk said.

The women have been transferred to al-Amiriyah area, south of Fallujah under the protection of Iraqi forces, he added.

The women are getting prepared to return to the Kurdistan region.

The development comes as Iraqi forces announced on June 17 that they had seized almost full control over the strategic city of Fallujah, which had been in the hands of the Daesh terrorists for almost two and a half years until then.
