10 Dead, 33 Injured In Badakhshan Explosion
MEP: At least ten people were killed and 33 others wounded in a powerful explosion rocked Kashem district of northeastern Badakhshan province.
The incident took place earlier Monday after a suicide bomber detonated a motorcycle packed with explosives in a market place, Abdul Salam Paiman, district governor said.
Women and children are among the victims, Paiman added.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Noor Khawari, director of public health in the province also confirmed the attack to the Middle East News Agency and said they have received 10 bodies and 33 wounded from the explosion.
An eyewitness told media that the incident occurred when all the people were busy buying and selling stuff in the market.
The blast came after a deadly suicide bomber targeted the vehicle of Nepalese security contractors, killing 14 and injuring 9 others in capital Kabul.
Security officials blame armed Taliban for Badakhshan explosion but Zabiullah Mujahid has reportedly rejected the claim.
