Four Arrested After Man Tied up, Tortured On Facebook Live

MEP: Chicago investigators are questioning four African-Americans after a disturbing video circulated on social media showed a young mentally disabled man from Chicago apparently tied up and being assaulted.

In the video shared via Facebook Live on Wednesday, four African-Americans are seen assaulting the duct-taped man, while yelling racially-charged obscenities.

The attackers repeatedly refer to the victim as a Donald Trump supporter in the live video, which has since been taken down, but not before others downloaded and reuploaded the file back onto YouTube.

Officers found a disoriented male walking down the 3400 block of West Lexington Avenue on Tuesday, Jan. 3. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Chicago Police late Wednesday said the man, who is from Crystal Lake, is mentally challenged.

He was so traumatized that it took most of the night for him to calm down to the point that he was able to talk to police, 11th District Captain Steven Sesso said. It’s unclear how long he was missing, but it could have been between 24 and 48 hours.

One of the suspects was a school acquaintance of the victim, according to police.

In the video originally posted by one of the arrested perpetrators, the suspects are seen laughing during the assault and repeatedly yelling: “F*** Donald Trump! F*** white people!”
