Foreign Citizens Use Afghan Passports: Rabbani Says

Salahuddin-RabbaniKABUL: (MEP) Minister of Foreign Affairs confirms that a number of Afghan passports have been taken by foreign nationals and are being misused.

Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs was summoned today by representatives for aero.

The representatives summoned Rabbani in connection with the distribution of Afghan diplomats’ passports, visa problems in the context of India, Ministry of Foreign Affairs annuities, problems of refugees and Afghan prisoners in other countries.

Some senators believed that India has recently made it difficult to issue visa for Afghan passports.

Rabbani with the approval of senators’ speeches about the problems of Indian visa, said that some foreign nationals from other countries are using the Afghani passport.

According to him, the foreign citizens have exploited the Afghan passport and this has caused India to restrict provide visas for citizens of Afghanistan.

Based on sources, and in accordance to the new India’s procedures, the existence of sickness documents and having a bank account is necessary for visa applicants.

However, the Foreign Minister promised to resolve the problems of Indian visa soon.

This comes as after the issuance of electronic passports, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also made it difficult to issue visas for the citizens of Afghanistan.
