A Taliban Insurgent Executes Ex-wife In Takhar
KABUL: (MEP) A member of Taliban insurgents killed his ex-wife after she married a police officer in Darqad district of Takhar province, an official said.
Khalil Asir, a spokesman for Takhar police chief told Middle East Press the incident occurred on Sunday night in the village of Noorkhail.
“The lady was married before with a Taliban insurgent who later divorced her and married a sergeant police order” said Asir.
According to the source, the dead woman identified as ‘Doorkho’, who was brutally shot dead by gunmen inside her residence that preliminary investigations indicate that her former husband ordered her execution.
Mr Asir also stated that further investigations started in this regard.
Violence against women is one of the major challenges and problems of the country in recent years.
