Deadly Traffic Accident Kills 11, 41 Others Wounded in Nimroz

bus-accidentKABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 11 people have lost their lives and nearly 41 others sustained injuries following a deadly traffic accident on Kabul-Kandahar highway in Nimroz province.

The incident took place in De-Mazang area Friday night, said Mohammad Hashim Noorzai, governor of Khash Rod District.

Noorzai added that a ‘303’ model passenger bus was heading towards Zaranj, the provincial capital, when turned upside down killing 11 passengers and 41 others wounded.

Women and children were also among the victims, according to Noorzai.

This happens a day after another traffic accident claimed nine lives on the same highway in the jurisdiction of Ghazni province.

Reckless driving in Afghanistan kills hundreds of people every year.
