According to reports, the private jet crashed at an airport in Hampshire, a county on the southern coast of England.

However, a source close to Saudi Arabian authorities confirmed that Bin Laden’s stepmother and sister, along with their Jordanian pilot, were killed after the jet crashed at a car auction site while trying to land at Blackbushe Airport in Hampshire on Friday. There is no report about the identity of the fourth passenger.

The Saudi embassy in meantime said it was working with British authorities to investigate the incident and to ensure the speedy handover of the bodies for funerals and burials in the kingdom. The country’s civil aviation authority said it was sending a representative to the UK to assist British investigators.

Acting chief inspector Olga Venner, of Hampshire police, speaking from the scene, said: “We can confirm that there were four people on board.

“Sadly, there were no survivors. No one on the ground has been injured and we would urge anyone with any information, including pictures or videos, to contact 101.”

The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch says it has launched inquiries into the deadly crash, but the incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.
