A Prisoner Commits Suicide in Central Herat Prison
KABUL: (Middle East Press) A prisoner who was imprisoned for the murder of his brother, has committed suicide in the Central prison of Herat province.
Abdul Qayum has been sentenced to jail for 12 years for murdering his brother in Shindand district of Herat province.
Gol Ahmad Ramesh, Deputy General Appeals of Herat province said Saturday that Qayum after serving two years of detention, has hanged out himself in Herat’s central prison blocks and has ended to his life.
He added that Qayum has also had mentally problems.
The incident comes as detainees went on a hunger strike in Herat’s prison due to different problems during the last years.
Nearly 3 thousands are imprisoned in the central prison of Herat province.
