22 Killed, 12 Injured in Kunduz Car Bombing Explosion
KABUL: (Middle East Press) A suicide car bombing attack killed at least 22 people including local policemen and 12 others wounded in northern Kunduz province on Saturday night, officials said.
Mohammad Yousuf Ayoubi, head of Provincial Council said that the incident took place in Khan Abad district when local policemen and residents of the district had gathered at a fuel pump station to discuss the security situation.
Ayoubi added that a suicide car bomber detonated his explosive near the station leaving 34 dead and injured.
The victims include mostly civilians, according to Ayoubi.
However, security officials have not commented in this regard so far.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The insurgents’ activities have increased in different provinces of the country and frequently target the local security forces posts during the recent year.
