80 Injured in Japan after Ferry Collides with Whale

80 people have been injured after a passenger ferry hit a whale in the western coast of Japan.

According to International section of Middle East Press, a 121-seat passenger coast, Ginga, hardly collided with a whale while it was heading to Sado Island in Niigata Port in Japan.

In spite of this accident, it is said that the ship belonging to the “Sado Steam Ship” Co arrived at the destination on the island about one hour behind schedule.

Coast Guard officials said that due to this collision 80 people are wounded and 13 of them are taken to hospital.

The Ginga ferry moves at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour, also known as the “Sea Aircraft” in Japan, has a capacity of 250 passengers.
