15 Armed Taliban Killed In Baghlan Clashes

MEP: Security officials in Baghlan province say that at least fifteen armed Taliban were killed during a military offensive that started on Friday morning.

Ahmad Jawed Salim, a spokesman for the brigade commanders of the army said the joint operation of Afghan troops to clear sections of Dandeshahab Din and Dande ghori on the outskirts of Baghlan province has been started from Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of the province.

The operation will continue until complete clearance of the areas.

It is said that Afghan forces advanced near the security checkpoints of Surkh Kotal that had fallen last week by Taliban and clashes to restore the station continue.

The armed Taliban have not commented on the report so far.
