Yemeni Army Kills 70 Qaeda Insurgents in Abyan

imagesKABUL: (Middle East Press) Nearly 70 militants have been killed in Abyan, after the Yemeni army and popular committees continued their anti-Qaeda operations across the country, authorities said.

According to reports, 5 Emirati officers and soldiers were also among the insurgents.

The army have reportedly repelled major attacks in different parts of the country.

The Yemeni forces also struck a Saudi border site in Najran, inflicting heavy losses upon it.

The Saudi-led aggression against Yemen kept targeting the civilians in various Yemeni provinces, causing much destruction.

According to the United Nations, the war on Yemen has killed about 4,000 people, nearly half of them civilians, since late March. Local Yemeni sources, however, put the fatality figure at a much higher number.
