KABUL: (Middle East Press) A woman has brutally set on fire in Kabul city, near Shah Do Shamshira mosque on Thursday afternoon by harsh civilians after she was accused to have burned the holy Quran. Officials and eyewitnesses reported.
The woman’s father said that her daughter Farkhunda, 27, was mentally sick from the past 16 years who immaturely burnt the Holy Quran in front of people.
Angry people had firstly started beating her and stoned her and as soon as she fainted she was set ablaze, said officials.
Kabul Police say that they have already launched an investigation and are still looking to arrest the killers of the victim.
Video footages and pictures published on social media also shows Farkhunda on the ground with a group of people around her kicking her and then setting her on fire.
Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior confirming the incident said that the killers of Farkhunda will surely face their punishment.
