Virus Sent By Hackers, Disabled Computers In Saudi Arabia

MEP: In mid-November, the virus sent by hackers inactivated the computers in a number of governmental agencies including the Ministry of Transport.

Saudi Arabia’s official news agency reported that, in the statement published by the National Center of the electronic security, it’s been said that this attack was only one of the attacks to Saudi Arabia’s governmental structures.

No detail is reported. It’s been only said that the damages to governmental offices’ servers and software are deliberate.

American experts reported yesterday that the hackers have used the Shamoon virus for attacking the computers.

Four years ago the same virus had inactivated thousands of energy companies’ computers in the Middle East.
