Unknown Armed Men Kidnap Two Singers in Ghazni
KABUL: (Middle East Press) According to reports at least two singers have been kidnapped in Ghazni province by unknown gunmen Tuesday afternoon.
The incident took place in Dasht Qarabagh area of Qarabagh District, said Ali Ahmad, Deputy Governor of Ghazni province.
Ali Ahmad added that the singers were on their way from Jaghori District to the provincial capital when they were stopped at a Taliban check point and taken to an unknown place.
The Taliban initially kidnapped six passengers with the vehicle they were riding in but later released four of them, Ali Ahmad stated.
However, Taliban’s spokesman has not commented on the report so far.
The motive behind the kidnapping is yet unknown but militants have demanded the release of their prisoners in exchange for four civilians they kidnapped from Ghazni province about a week ago.
