Turkish –Israeli Secret Talks

Dore GoldKABUL: (Middle East Press) Dore Gold, the Director-General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes that not in a long-run future, Israel and Turkey shall find a joint solution in order to reestablish ties between the two governments.

Mr. Gold who had a clandestine meeting with his Turkish counterpart in Rome stated that region’s unraveling developments and complex challenges have all persuaded Turkey to carry out some decisive changes in its foreign policy.

The strategic situation has deteriorated across turkey in past two-three years ago and especially after the advent of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), added Mr. Gold.

Responding to a question on why the two countries don’t try effectively to reconcile; Mr. Gold replied that the tough situation which turkey is encountering is worse than 2010 raid on Mavi Marmara flotilla by many times that soured the relation between Ankara and Tel Aviv.

“Things will take time,” added the Israeli official.

When asked whether he thinks that Israel and Turkey would look for a rapprochement as long as President Erdoğan holds office; Mr. Gold answered that he does believe that all countries would act according to their respective interests and I thinks Turkey and Israel will coalesce around their vital interests.

It is expected that in the near future Mr. Gold will visit with Turkish prominent news reporters in the occupied territories invited by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Turkey and Qatar claim to support Hamas – an important pillar of the axis of resistance – but in fact they seek to expand their political, economic and military relations with the Zionist regime.
