Trump Says There Is ‘Zero Chance I’ll Quit’

MEP: US presidential candidate Donald Trump under pressure to step aside as the Republican presidential candidate after the disclosure of his having made lewd comments about women, has vowed to stay in the race, saying on Saturday that there is “zero chance I’ll quit.”

He made the comment in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

The Washington Post released the video, in which Trump is heard making a conversation about trying to have sex with a married woman.

Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to vow he will not quit the race ahead of the November 8 vote despite growing calls.

The Republican nominee, eager to dispel notions of waning support, emerged from the front entrance of Trump Tower in Manhattan late Saturday afternoon to greet a throng of cheering fans after spending the day huddled with campaign advisers.

For just over a minute, he shook several hands, pumped his fist in the air and waved to the supporters and passersby huddled on a rainy Fifth Avenue before heading back inside.

Donald Trump should explain how he’s changed in the last 10 years, the chief of staff for one of his first congressional supporters said Saturday.

Several representatives and senators have withdrawn their support for the Republican nominee in the day since a 2005 recording of Trump making comments about groping women. The video was taped only months after Trump married his third wife, Melania.

In a statement, Melania Trump called her husband’s words ‘unacceptable and offensive to me’.

‘This does not represent the man that I know,’ she said.

‘He has the heart and mind of a leader. I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world.’

The comments have pushed the Trump campaign into a crisis with Trump’s running-mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, saying, even he was offended.

“As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump,” said Pence, who had previously just ignored questions regarding the matter.

Following a criticism by Republican leaders, Trump released a video saying, “I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am.”
