MEP: Taliban insurgents during an escape in central Baghlan district have set on fire the agricultural produces and the houses of the local residents.

Col. Abdul Bashir, head of Baghlan police chief in an interview with the Middle East News Agency said the Taliban insurgents faced heavy losses as a result of joint operations by security forces on areas under insurgents’ control.

The Taliban rebels were then forced to flee the areas, Bashir added.

Acting Chief of Baghlan Police said Taliban insurgents during their escape burned people’s houses and agricultural produces and has caused large financial losses to the people of the region.

The villages of Jaat Kaka Mangal, Mangal Ha, Jokana and Aabqol are the villages that have been cleared of insurgents, Bashir noted.

According to the source, at least 30 Taliban insurgents were killed, including its military chief and 35 of them were wounded in the battles with security forces.
