MEP: Deadly clashes have reportedly broke out between Ansarullah forces and forces loyal to former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, in south Yemen.

According to military officials, 28 Ansarullah forces and 20 Hadi loyalists were killed in the conflicts.

The Sunday fighting occurred as Houthi forces attacked on the Hadi loyalists — backed by Saudi forces — in the Bayhan region located on the border between the country’s Shabwah and Ma’rib provinces.

A large number of both sides’ forces were also injured during the fighting.

Clashes have repeatedly broken out there despite a ceasefire which began on April 10, which has mostly stopped fighting and buttressed weeks of inconclusive U.N.-backed peace talks in Kuwait.

More than 9,400 people have been killed and at least 16,000 others injured since the onset of the Saudi Arabia’s aggression since late March 2015 in a bid to bring Hadi, a staunch ally of the Riyadh regime, back to power and undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement.
