Taliban Seize Helmand’s Musa Qala District, Killing And Injuring Dozens of Afghan Soldiers

article-2194158-14B55FBF000005DC-135_468x345KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 8 security forces embraced martyrdom and 15 others wounded in heavy clashes with Taliban insurgents in Musa Qala district of southern Helmand province.

The district governor, Mohammad Sharif Khan said that Taliban militants after killing and injuring our security forces, they have then fully seized the district on Tuesday night.

Khan said that security forces attacked Taliban militants until their last bullet but when they ran out of ammunitions, Taliban captured the district.

Khan added that before Musa Qala falls it was surrounded by Taliban for several days.

According to Khan, he yield for assistance and reinforcement but did not receive it which caused in the casualties to security forces and losing the district to Taliban.

Khan had earlier warned Medias that Taliban are about two kilometers away from the district center of Musa Qala adding that the district could fall to Taliban in case reinforcement does not arrive on time.
