Taliban attack to Cheshm-e Shir defended

Security officials in Baghlan said the Taliban attack over the security checkpoints in Pul-e Khumri- Mazar-e Sharif road in Cheshm-e Shir was defended but it left two women wounded.

Security officials in Baghlan said the Taliban attack over the security checkpoints in Pul-e Khumri- Mazar-e Sharif road in Cheshm-e Shir was defended but it left two women wounded.

“The Taliban attack to security checkpoints was defended in in Cheshm-e Shir and the road in now open to traffic” Zabihullah Shojaa, the Baghlan police spokesman told the Middle East Press

He added the reason behind this Taliban attack was to weaken the Afghan security forces operations in Baladuri district of Pul-e Khumri.

Local residents but said the Taliban began their attack at 2:00 am today and the gun exchange had been continuing when it endded at 7:00 am.

After the attack the road was closed to traffic for almost two hours they added.

Afghan security forces operations, backed by air strikes, have been undergone in Baladuri district in Pul-e Khumri.

No exact number has been announced about the casualties of tonight incident but many people have been said to be replaced.
