Sisi Supports Bashar Al-Assad Officially

MEP: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, during an interview with a Portuguese channel, stated that Egypt supports the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad and his army in the fight against extremism and terrorism.

Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in response to the question of whether Egypt will send troops to Syria or not stated: “Our priority is to support our Army in issues such as controlling some parts of Libya and dealing with extremist forces for establishing peace, including in Syria and Iraq.” And With an emphasis on the existing sensitivity about sending troops to Syria, said: “In this situation, it is desirable that the armed forces of each country, establish peace and security in their own countries.”

He also said: “Syria is faced with a deep crisis in the last 5 years. And Egypt respects the wills of the Syrian people. A political solution is the best way to solve this crisis. We should deal seriously with the extremist groups for disarming them. The alliance of the nation is very important to avoid dividing the country and for its reconstruction after the crisis.”

Sisi explained that more patience is required about his statements during Donald Trump’s campaign, and in January, when Donald Trump takes over the government, we will see his good actions.

Egypt has sent military forces to Syria, for fighting against terrorism, including ISIL’s Takfiri terrorists.

The two countries will announce this cooperation in the future.
