Salang Pass Opens for Traffic
KABUL (MEP) — The Salang Highway, which was blocked due to flooding, was re-opened after being cleared.
Yesterday’s floods caused troubles and rocks to be transported to the public highway, blocking the traffic.
Salang pass Safety and Protection Unit has announced that the Salang Highway, which was blocked due to flooding, was re-opened today, Tuesday, September 03 for traffic.
According to source information, a number of vehicles that had been stopped on both sides of the Salang were allowed to move along this route after the cleanup operations team was connected.
It is noteworthy that the pass is still polluted by floodplains and rocks, and cleanup is ongoing.
