Russia Suspends Air Safety Agreement With U.S. In Syria

MEP: The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that it has suspended the air safety agreement with the U.S. in Syrian airspace in response to the assault that took place at dawn against Shoayrat airbase in Homs, using 59 missiles.

It has also declared that “It is clear that the American strike was prepared for before the alleged chemical attack in Idlib.”

Furthermore, it has called for an emergence Security Council meeting.

Russia denounced America’s assault, considering it an act of aggression against a sovereign country, and a violation of international law. The Kremlin said that these attacks have greatly damaged relations with the U.S.

It also added that the Syrian Army has no chemical weapons, and that these strikes were launched under falsified claims.

The first Russian reply to America’s strikes on Friday on Shoayrat airbase was by the head of the Russian Federation Council’s Defense Committee who said that “the American strikes may impede anti-terrorism efforts in Syria.”
