Rocket Shells Land During ‘The Ceremony Of The Independence Day Celebration’ In Kunar, Killing 3
MEP: At least people were killed after the armed Taliban fired three missiles at the celebration of Independence Day in the city of Asadabad, capital of Kunar province.
In addition, 41 others were wounded.
Mohibullah Kalimzai, governor of Kunar told the Middle East Press, the incident at around 10:30 am this morning during the celebration of the anniversary of Afghanistan’s independence, in which three civilians were killed and 41 others including three policemen were wounded.
The health condition of the injured is satisfactory and were taken to the central hospital in Kunar.
Meanwhile, Abdul Latif Fazli, a member of the Provincial Council said 30 children and a youth were injured in the incident.
Though the official blame the Taliban for the attack but the group did not comment on the report.
Today 8/ August 18, 2016 is marks the 97 th anniversary of the country’s Independence that people from all provinces celebrate.
