shelling attack in SyriaMEP: At least 28 civilians have been killed after shells fired by militants in Syria’s southwestern districts of the battleground city of Aleppo over the last 24 hours, says a monitoring group.

Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said six children and eight women were among those killed in two of the capital’s government-controlled neighbourhoods.

In addition, dozens of people were wounded, Mr Rahman told AFP.

The recent casualties come as fierce clashes are going on between Syrian government forces and militants trying to break the siege around the city of Aleppo.
