President Ghani Strongly Condemns Kabul Suicide Attack

President GhaniKABUL: (Middle East Press) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has strongly condemned a suicide attack which rocked capital Kabul in the Macroyan 4 area leaving over scores of civilians dead and injured.

Ghani expressed his deep depression of the suicide attack on Saturday, said the goal of the terrorists is outright hostility and bloodshed of the innocent people of Afghanistan.

“The enemies of our people cannot face the country’s Defense and Security forces, therefore, they keep targeting and killing civilians” he added.

Ghani stressed that the National Government is committed to eliminate the terrorists’ activities in the national and regional level, adding that Afghan Government will use all means to combat such agents and the perpetrators will be brought to the claws of the law.

President Ghani has ordered to the authorities concerned to use of all the possible facilities to treat the injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has also strongly condemned the deadly attack, and has called for “immediate halt to all such disproportionate attacks in civilian-populated areas in Afghanistan.”

At least 10 people were killed and over 60 others were injured after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives on Saturday afternoon.

The victims included women, children and three foreign workers whose nationalities have not been released.

No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

However, reports show that Taliban has rejected hands in the blast.
