President Ghani Leaves For Turkey

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left Azerbaijan on Wednesday afternoon for Turkey to hold talks with the country’s senior officials.

turkeyKABUL: (MEP) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left Azerbaijan on Wednesday afternoon for Turkey to hold talks with the country’s senior officials.

Ghani will focus on expanding bilateral economic and trade ties between the nations and opportunities available for Turkish investment in Afghanistan, a statement by ARG Palace said.

According to the statement, three agreements would be signed between Afghan and Turkish authorities during the visit.

The agreements will contain political consultations between foreign affairs ministries and cooperation agreements between interior ministries and also an agreement on the construction of Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi University in Afghanistan.

The statement added that President Ghani will meet with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the country’s Prime Minister.

Meanwhile Ghani on Tuesday met with his Azerbaijan counterpart Ilham Aliyev where the two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest.

Leading a high level delegation to the country, Ghani arrived in Baku, the capital, early Tuesday.
