Pakistan Eventually Confirms Mullah Mansoor’s Death
MEP: The government of Pakistan has finally confirmed that Mullah Mohammad Akhtar Mansoor, the former leader of Taliban group has been targeted by a US drone strike in the country’s Baluchistan province on Friday night (May 20, 2016).
All indicators confirm that the person killed in the drone strike was Mansoor who was travelling on a fake identity when targeted in a drone strike near Noshki district in Baluchistan, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, said during a press briefing.
“We still have the body of Mullah Mansoor and after the DNA test a definitive report will confirm it further” Aziz added.
He also said that drone attacks are against the sovereignty of Pakistan and we will protest against drone strikes in the United Nations.
“Mullah Mansour was not opposed to peace talks,” Aziz further reiterated.
