NDS Arrests 8 Members Of Haqqani Group Over Attack On Tolo Personnel
KABUL: (MEP) The Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced on Friday that a group of eight members of the Haqqani terrorist network, the perpetrators of the suicide attack on Tolo TV personnel were arrested.
A statement was released by NDS states, the group was detained during a special operation from Hussain Khel village of Bagrami district in Kabul province in connection with the deadly suicide attack on Tolo TV staff vehicle.
“The terrorists belonging to the Haqqani network, had designed and implemented the attack on Wednesday evening in capital Kabul in which at least 8 were killed and more than 20 others wounded.” The statement read.
NDS says the institution is trying day and night to thwart terrorist plans in the country and tens and hundreds of malicious programs of the terrorists have been dismantled and destroyed.
According to the NDS statement, the group has so far foiled and destroyed 25 vehicles loaded with explosives, 20 suicide bombers, 7 designer/plotter and 10 facilitators have been arrested in past six months.
