Most Of The Leaders Of The Extremist Takfiri Groups In Tal Afar Come From Turkey

MEP: According to Mayadeen television channel, Jafar Al-Husseini said in an interview with the network: “the dominance of Tal Afar Airport by Iraq’s Popular Mobilization means dominating the last ISIS supply line from the city of Tal Afar and the Syrian borders and also means cutting the road between the two countries.”

“Most of ISIS leaders in the west of Tal Afar are Turkish citizens; it had been proved by eavesdropping ISIS members and the prisoners that we captured. It had been proved that military commander in Mosul’s western axis was a Turkish citizens known as “Abu Ibrahim”.  He was injured in conflicts around Tal Afar airport and was transferred to the city a few days ago. Turkish ISIS leaders entered Tal Afar two or three months ago, they weren’t present before that. They were assigned to go on missions in the city of Mosul and its surrounding areas. When Liberation of Mosul began, these people were transferred to western axis and Nineveh Island,” Al-Husseini added

“It took three hour to clear the airport. Our troops marched to Tal Afar and deployed in Southern and Western part of the city. So Tal Afar is surrounded from both sides. We’re waiting for western axis forces to reach around the city as well. Simultaneously, we will be targeting ISIL positions inside the city. ISIS sends booby-trapped cars to the region and used Cornet thermal rocket for the first time. The Number of booby-trapped cars around Tal Afar Airport was as many as all the booby-trapped cars that we faced in the operation in other parts of western axis. There are concrete tunnels inside Tal Afar airport which was used to store weapons for Iraqi army because it is a military airport. We are waiting for the command to attack Tal Afar or remain around the city. Some of ISIS members who were wounded were captured in the airport,” he added.

The spokesman for Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq said: “Turkish planes are flying over the region, and sometimes low their height and pass over our military units. Hezbollah’s air defense Brigades are responsible for dealing with these planes. We informed general commander of Iraqi armed forces that Turkish planes insist on violating Iraqi airspace and patrolling over the area. The third phase of Mosul Operation ends by reaching all popular mobilization forces to the surrounding area of Tal Afar. The fourth step or the next operation will be toward Tal Afar, but no decision has been made to enter the city. If the General Commander of Iraqi armed forces commands in this regard, we will enter the city in two days. Otherwise, we will continue the siege of Tal Afar from four axes.”
