Man Kills Fiancée In Takhar Province
MEP: A 17-year-old girl has been killed by her fiancé in the outskirts of Taloqan, capital of Takhar province, an official said.
Khalil Aseer, a spokesman for Takhar police told the Middle East Press the incident took place last night in Qolbers region of Taloqan city.
Motive for the killing of the girl is not clear yet and investigations started, he said.
Aseer added that the man was captured by police and the investigation is ongoing.
Domestic violence that mostly leads to murder and beatings of women have recently increased in northern Afghanistan and human rights organizations have repeatedly expressed concern about it.
