As a reaction to series of explosions including the Saturday triple attacks at the funeral ceremony of Salem Izadyar, the Jamiat-e-Islami high ranked officials called for the removal of all top security officials.
The Jamiat-e-Islami`s position was made today two days after explosions hit the funeral ceremony of the son of Meshrano Jirga deputy, Mohammad Alam Izadyar.
Speaking during a press conference in Kabul today, Rabbani said the recent attacks in Kabul and other key provinces show that the security institutions have failed to ensure security for the Afghan people so top security officials especially Hanif Atmar must be removed from their posts.
Rabbani added the triple attacks in the funeral ceremony were vividly planned to target the Jamiat-e-Islami high ranked officials.
He also claimed that certain circles within the government have links with the insurgent groups as he pointed towards the violent incidents during the protests in Kabul on Friday and the recent suspicious attacks in Kabul city.
“All those security officials being negligent in duty and let triple attacks happen in Saray-e Shamali should be brought into justice and sentenced.” Rabbani said
As the ministry of foreign affairs said some circles inside the security organs are likely associated with terrorists.
Jamiat-e-Islami leader also asked the national unity government to implement the articles of the political agreement based on which the current government was formed.
Unless the demands of Jamiat-e-Islami are answered, we in cooperation with other political movements will take the next steps.
Asking Dr. Abdullah to clearly take his position, Rabbani said Ata Mohammad Noor, the Balkh governor has fully supported the Jamiat-e-Islami `s stance and still continues but Dr. Abdullah is expected to announce his position soon.
Without Jamiat-e-Islami`s being colleague, the national unity government`s continuing work seems meaningless.
Kabul in series of explosions on last Wednesday experienced a big explosion originated from a waste water tank claiming lives of 500 civilians, on Friday after the protest turned violent 7 were killed and 10 wounded and then on Saturday another triple attacks in Badam Bagh killed 6 and wounded 87 others.
