Iran Bans Potato, Onion Exports

The Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran ordered the customs authorities of his country to ban exports of onions and potatoes abroad.

According to the international reports of Middle East Press; Reza Rahmani, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, has been suspending exports of potatoes and onions since April 4 and will continue until further notice, in order to manage the market and strengthen local products.

In addition, according to the rules of packing approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, exports of tomatoes, souse and other related products that are under 5 Kilograms are freed.

This is while most of imported potatoes and onions in Afghanistan is exported from Iran.
