Insignificant Ceremony To Celebrate The Independence Day

The Independence day ceremony in AfghanistanMEP: The ninety-seventh anniversary of the country’s Independence Day was celebrated in the form of limited only by putting rosemary flowers on foot minaret of Independence by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The ceremony was held on Thursday morning at the Ministry of National Defense.

The ceremony was attended by some domestic and foreign officials, including Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hanif Atmar, the national security adviser.

The small ceremony hosted by the ceremonial guard and the national anthem.

President Ghani did not speak with the media after laying flowers.

Although the Independence Day possess of great name and the meaning, but the big day was greeted only with a small ceremony.

Before, the day was celebrated with military parades and sporting events but after the armed attack on the independence ceremony in 1387 solar year, the event was moved to the presidential palace.

Ghazi Amanullah Khan proclaimed independence. Afghanistan gained its full independence and signed the Treaty of Rawalpindi (or Anglo-Afghan Treaty) on August 8, 1919, where Britain formally recognized the sovereignty and independence of Afghanistan.
